Following the end of the national lockdown, the district’s leisure centres and outdoor sports facilities will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020, in line with the latest government guidelines. Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre, Castle Farm Recreation Centre, St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, Abbey Fields Swimming Pool and John Atkinson Sports Centre (managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active) will all be opening their doors, however local restrictions mean that some activities will not be available.

The following outdoor facilities will also reopen on Wednesday and outdoor group sessions in the Council’s parks and open spaces can resume;

  • Football Pitches and Pavilions managed by the Council
  • Tennis Courts managed by the Council – Abbey Fields, St Nicholas Park, Victoria Park and Christchurch Gardens
  • Edmondscote Athletics Track and Gym

 Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger commented; “The reopening of our sports amenities is a welcome boost for our district especially as we move into the dark and cold winter months.

Regular exercise is important both physically and mentally and we very much hope that local people will take advantage of the excellent facilities available, in the knowledge that strict, tried and tested health and safety measures are in place.” For full information on the activities available at our local leisure centres visit www.everyoneactive.com.
