I have been a Radford Semele Parish Councillor since November 2014, and was subsequently appointed to the Playing Field Committee and I am now chairman of that committee. Along with others I was instrumental in providing new children’s playground equipment in 2016. Current projects include the provision of adult outdoor gym equipment on the playing field together with the ongoing maintenance and refurbishment of existing playing field equipment. Also, I am involved in a project to refurbish the telephone box on the Southam Road with a view to converting it for use by the community.
I am also a member of the Parish Council’s Steering Group set up in 2016 to develop a draft Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. The work is still ongoing and is expected to be finalised toward the end of the year.
My wife and I moved to Radford Semele in1975 and have raised two boys here who attended the local school. I have a degree in Civil Engineering from London University and am a chartered engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Now retired my work experience has spanned 40 years and I have been involved in the design, construction and project management of multi million pound highway schemes working for Warwickshire County Council and the Midland Road Construction Unit.
As a long standing resident, with a background in local government, I am able to provide help, guidance and support for the benefit of the community.
I am enthusiastic about keeping fit (regular gym and swim sessions), keen on DIY work, a member of a choir and I enjoy travelling.
