Art Group

The group meets at the Community Hall on Wednesday mornings, 10am to12.00. (Note: excludes the second Wednesday in each month) The group is formed from people, male and female, who have come together to share their common interest. In most weeks individuals work on their own project but over the year a number of artists are hired to give demonstrations which hopefully extend the skills of the group. The normal weekly contribution is £3 with additional charges when specialists are hired. New members are very welcome. Contact Iris Chater Tel. 01926 428401

Beavers, Cubs & Scouts

Each group meets at the School on Monday evenings The Group Leader is John Gobert 01926 425908

Beavers (6-8 years) 6 to7pm

Cubs (8-10.5 years) 7 to 8-15pm

Scouts (10.5- 15 years) 7-15 to 9pm

Brownies and Rainbows

Both groups meet in the Community Hall. They have fun and make new friends.

Rainbows (5-7 years) meet- Monday 6-00 to 7-30

Brownies (7-10 years) years – Wednesday 5-45 to 7-15

Community Hall

Hire charges normally £10 per hour for village events.

Hire charges normally £12 per hour for external bookings.

(Extra charges may be requested at the time of booking for some functions)

  The Hall accommodates up to 120 people for sitting, theatre style, or approximately 80 people, sitting for eating, using tables. Seating and tables are available to accommodate these numbers. China and cutlery is also available to cater for parties, but extra charges may apply for larger events. The Hall and facilities have been refurbished. Facilities, include the large hall, kitchen and utensils, stage and toilets. There is excellent central heating also a large projection screen. All is in excellent condition. Parking facilities exist for up to thirty cars. The Hall is in frequent use for both regular and single bookings. Additional enquires are always welcome. Contact Mrs Hazel Higgins 01926-424158 for more information. (Please note the management committee makes the point that the Hall is run by a team of volunteers. Whilst Mrs Higgins will provide information and pictures showing facilities at the Hall she is not able to attend the Hall to facilitate enquiries about possible use of the Hall for parties etc. Two picture of the Hall interior appear below.)  The Community Hall is a Registered Charity- No 522985. It is run by a management committee which gains its authority under a 999 year lease, originally approved by the Parish Council. The management committee holds its meeting monthly in the Community Hall on the last Tuesday of each month at 7-30pm, except in August and December.

Current news items:-

1) The football changing rooms and water storage tanks have been fully updated.

2) Work has been completed, at a cost in excess of £2000, to replace the fascias, guttering facing the playing field and roof repairs.

The windows to the football changing rooms have been replaced..

3) An Epson projector has been purchased,and is available for hire. It would normally be used for projecting to the screen available, directly from a PC. Please enquire if you wish to use it when booking the Hall. The projector is not stored on the premises.

3) A new cooker has been installed in the kitchen.

       4) During the early part of 2017 the Hall was completely redecorated.

5) A new audio system was installed in 2017.

Radford Forge (Friends Of Radford Green Environment)

 

This group is a residents’ community group which has a voice as well as active intentions to green up our space. It acts for the benefit of the community and local wild life. Membership is open to anyone who lives in and around Radford Semele.

Radford Semele Post Office

The former Post Office has now closed. It is pleasing to report that the Post Office services are now provided from the Radford Semele Stores.

Radford Semele Stores

The village shop, in Lewis Road, now includes Post Office services in addition to a wide range of provisions including fresh bread, milk, cheeses, vegetables, grocery items, wines and spirits, DVDs and general household goods. It has extended opening times over seven days and is well known for its friendly helpful service. Home deliveries can be arranged. Tel 01926 426972

Rendezvous coffee morning

Radford Rendezvous has as its meeting place the Community Hall in Radford Semele and normally meets on the second Wednesday morning in each month. All are welcome. It is not a club and there is no membership. It is not only an opportunity to meet one another but often the Vicar, the Baptist Minister and our Police Community support Officers are present too, giving you a chance to chat with them. Whist Club

Women’s Institute (WI)

The Radford Semele WI meets in the Community Hall on the third Tuesday of each month at 7-30pm. Every year a programme of speakers is prepared to appeal to a wide audience. Additional social events are organised, some at a local level and some via the County organisation. There are currently approximately forty members and new members are always welcome.
